The Musical Moments recital series at the Geneva Public Library will resume on Friday, September 9, 2022 starting at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. It will feature classical guitarist Eric J Roth.
Mr. Roth will perform a concert of classical guitar music on a beautiful, authentic reproduction instrument modeled after one built in 1830. Eric will also provide information about the instrument, repertoire, composers, and history. The program will include music from 16th-century Italy, 18th-century Spain, 19th-century Vienna, and 20th century France and Brazil. Composers to be represented include Capirola, da Milano, Sanz, Mertz, Presti, Pernambuco, and others. Eric will also perform his own piece, Pavane.
Eric Roth specializes in historical instruments and repertoire. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from SUNY New Paltz and has received lessons or master classes from several acclaimed guitarists, including Nicholas Goluses, Gohar Vardanyan, Michael Newman & Laura Oltman, David Starobin, and Patrick O’Brien. Eric frequently performs at public and private venues throughout New York's Hudson Valley region and beyond. Eric serves as a board member of the Mid-Hudson Classical Guitar Society and as president of the Poné Ensemble for New Music.
