HWS Community Chorus Fall Concert

The Hobart and William Smith Community Chorus is delighted to present its fall concert, featuring works by George Frideric Handel and Benjamin Britten. Excerpts from Handel’s Messiah and Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb form the core of the program. The Handel presents well-loved tunes with texts drawn from the Bible, and the Britten presents quirky, colorful gestures to similarly striking texts written by English poet Christopher Smart while he was confined to a mental asylum. The concert will also feature Britten’s serene Hymn to the Virgin and bubbly Jubilate Deo. The chorus will be joined by vocalists from the Eastman School of Music. Free Admission.
