He was born in Germany, lived in the south

east of France, moved recently the FLX

and gleans sounds from the depths of the

United States.

Guitarist, singer, and producer Mathis Haug has been a mainstay of the European scene for more than two decades. He has recorded 7 albums under his own name for the Dixiefrog and Nueva Onda labels, as well as an EP produced in Memphis.

He was burning up the highways with his own group when he wasn’t peddling his wares as guitarist and bandleader for the likes of legendary Moroccan vocalist Oum, Tuscarora Nation artist and activist Pura Fé, harmonica wizard J.J. Milteau, blues greats Eric Bibb and Big Daddy Wilson, Doc Watsons’s Guitarist Jack Lawrence, jazz diva Angie Wells, as well as French Pop singer and former First Lady Carla Bruni who hired him as sideman, composer and producer.
