Ruben will be honoring Preston Frank and the rich tradition of Creole Zydeco Preston has been immersed in his whole life.Preston Frank was originally hired for this Northern tour, but he won't be able to make it. Ruben Moreno is a young Tejano-Creole Zydeco artist born and raised in Houston, Texas. He brings a dynamic youthful energy with a sizzlin hot locked down dance groove. Moreno is a steward of the next generation of Zydeco music, incorporating traditional sounds and dance grooves taking Zydeco music in a fresh direction.
When Ruben learned that Preston couldn't hit the road, he jumped at the opportunity to fully embrace his Creole roots and immerse himself in Preston's music. He will work hand in hand with Kevin Wimmer on fiddle to deliver some thoughtful renditions of Preston's much loved take on the Creole Zydeco tradition. Kevin Wimmer is one of the most revered fiddlers out of Louisiana today (for years with Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys). Wimmer has toured four continents and countless cities with Balfa Toujours, the Red Stick Ramblers, Racines, Ray Abshire, Ann Savoy and her Sleepless Nights, as well as Preston Frank and the Frank Family Band.
Get ready, because you're in for a real treat when Ruben & Kevin hit the stage backed by the Creole Swamp Krewe, sure to sweep you off your feet and onto the dance floor.
